Designed by Sori Yanagi, a Japanese industrial designer renowned for his simple and practical products ranging from furniture to kitchenware. As the son of the founder of the Mingei movement, Sori's designs were drawn from the aesthetics of Japanese folk crafts; finding beauty in the everyday objects made by unknown artists, focusing on using natural and local resources, traditional techniques and methods, and handmade production. The stainless steel cutlery series began in 1974 when Sori collaborated with Nihon Yoshokki in Tsubame City, Niigata Prefecture, Japan to design kitchen products that are beautiful and functional. The tea spoon is made of 18-8 stainless steel that is highly durable and lightweight, and its seamless design makes it easy to clean. It has a slightly wider and deeper bowl with a longer handle, great to use in large cups and mugs. Useful for not just stirring, but can also be used for eating desserts like pudding and ice cream. Features a matte finish and a satiny texture that comes with a pleasant thickness and weight in the hands. Dishwasher safe but hand washing is recommended.
